O texto faz breve descrição da obra herpetológica de Osvaldo Rodrigues da Cunha (1928-2011), pesquisador do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, Brasil. Destaca sua formação intelectual, os principais trabalhos, a organização da coleção herpetológica do Museu Goeldi e a criação do Setor de Herpetologia da instituição. Também destaca as espécies descritas por Cunha e colaboradores.
Resumo
The article presents a briefly description of the herpetological works of Osvaldo Rodrigues da Cunha (1928-2011), researcher of the Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi, Brazil. It highlights his intellectual training and main works, the organization of the Goeldi Museum herpetological collection, and the creation of the Department of Herpetology in this institution. It also put in relief the species described by Cunha and collaborators.
