Taxonomic studies of the genus Martiodendron Gleas (leguminosae caesalpinioideae) occurring in the Amazon.

Dando continuidade ao Projeto Leguminosas da Amazônia Brasileira, que tem por objetivo, estudar os gêneros da Amazônia. Neste trabalho estudaremos o gênero Martiodendron Gleas., representado por apenas três espécies: M. excelsum (Benth) Gleason, M. parviflorum (Amsh.) Koeppen, M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason e duas variedades dentro da espécie M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason, variedade elatum e variedade occidentale (Ducke) Koeppen. Caracteriza-se o gênero por apresentar árvores belas, com folhas imparipinadas; folíolos 5-11(13), alternas, ovados ou elípticos; panículas no final dos ramos, com flores vistosas, amarelas; fruto oblíquo achatado, reniforme ou subrombóide. Destacamos informações relacionadas com a morfologia polínica, onde o gênero em estudo é estenopalino; grãos de pólen médios, 3-colparados, prolatos, esferoidais, amb triangular com exceção de M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason var. occidentale e M. parviflorum (Amsh) Koeppen.
Resumo
Continuing the Project Leguminosae from the Brazilian Amazon, which aims to study the genera of the Amazon. In this work we will study the genus Martiodendron Gleas, represented by only three species: M. excelsum (Benth) Gleason, M. parviflorum (Amsh.) Koeppen, M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason and two varieties within the species M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason, variety elatum and variety occidentale (Ducke) Koeppen. The genus is characterized by beautiful trees, with imparipinnate leaves; leaflets 5-11(13), alternate, ovate or elliptic; panicles at the end of the branches, with showy, yellow flowers; flattened oblique fruit, reniform or subromboid. We highlight information related to pollen morphology, where the genus under study is stenopaline; pollen grains medium, 3-collared, prolate, spheroidal, triangular ambulate with the exception of M. elatum (Ducke) Gleason var. occidentale and M. parviflorum (Amsh) Koeppen.
