Temas e inquirições em etnoentomologia: algumas sugestões quanto à geração e testes de hipóteses

Abstract

This work begins with the problem of defining enotomology; it then briefly traces the history of this field. This is followed by a general overview of the literature in the main areas of the subject, with suggestions for continued research. Finally, examples of ethnoenological research are given that utilize enotomology in general to generate new ideas that can be formulated into hypotheses and tested by Western science. Hypothesis generation and testing is suggested as an important "intellectual bridge" to a scientific world that builds on the knowledge systems of all human societies.
