indígena Kayapó. A partir do levantamento bibliográfico e documental, com abordagem qualitativa, e
enfoque histórico e socioantropológico, buscamos compreender como a atividade garimpeira tem sido
uma máquina propulsora de destruição da Amazônia, e isto pode ser observado ao longo da história da
prática do garimpo ilegal na Terra Indígena Kayapó, situada na região sudeste do Estado do Pará, no Brasil
Resumo
This paper presents the results obtained during the research developed at MPEG, where we sought to understand the sociocultural impacts generated by illegal mining activities in the Kayapó indigenous land. Based on a bibliographic and documentary survey, with a qualitative approach, and a historical and socio-anthropological focus, we sought to understand how mining activities have been a driving force behind the destruction of the Amazon, and this can be observed throughout the history of illegal mining practices in the Kayapó Indigenous Land, located in the southeast region of the State of Pará, in Brazil.
