A Zona Bragantina, situada a leste de Belém, entre o rio Guamá e o litoral, compreende uma área de quase 20.000 quilômetros quadrados. Era coberta por florestas primárias de terra firme, que foram totalmente devastadas a partir do fim do século passado por migrantes vindos do Nordeste do país, fugidos da seca. O objetivo deste trabalho é determinar a brioflora atual daquela área, ainda não estudada e, ao mesmo tempo, compará-la com outras regiões de mata primária do estado do Pará. Foram realizadas coletas nos municípios de Vizeu, Ajuruteua, Capitão Poço, Augusto Corrêa e Bragança. O material coletado está em fase de identificação, mas pode-se ressaltar a ocorrência, em abundância, de Sematophyllaceae, seguida por Calymperaceae, Leucobryaceae, Hypnaceae, Hookeriaceae, Thuidiaceae e Neckeraceae. Outras famílias ocorreram em menor quantidade, como Fissidentaceae, Pterobryaceae, Plagiotheciaceae, Meteoriaceae, Dicranaceae, Orthotrichaceae e Bartrarmiaceae. O grupo das hepáticas também é bastante expressivo na área, sendo a família Lejeuneaceae a que tem se destacado mais (CNPq/Museu Goeldi).
Resumo
The Bragantine Zone, located east of Belém, between the Guamá River and the coast, covers an area of almost 20,000 square kilometers. It used to be covered by primary terra firme forests, which were totally devastated at the end of the last century by migrants coming from the Northeast of the country, fleeing the drought. The objective of this work is to determine the current brioflora of this area, not yet studied, and, at the same time, to compare it with other primary forest regions in the state of Pará. Collections were done in the municipalities of Vizeu, Ajuruteua, Capitão Poço, Augusto Corrêa and Bragança. The material collected is still being identified but we can highlight the occurrence, in abundance, of Sematophyllaceae, followed by Calymperaceae, Leucobryaceae, Hypnaceae, Hookeriaceae, Thuidiaceae and Neckeraceae. Other families occurred in smaller numbers, such as Fissidentaceae, Pterobryaceae, Plagiotheciaceae, Meteoriaceae, Dicranaceae, Orthotrichaceae, and Bartrarmiaceae. The liverworts group is also quite expressive in the area, with the Lejeuneaceae family being the most prominent (CNPq/Museu Goeldi).
