Descrição
Os grãos de pólen foram analisados quanto ao tamanho, número de abertura, forma e estratificação da exina. Os do gênero Dussia apresentam-se pequenos, sub-prolatos e 3-colporados, diferenciando-se apenas quanto ao âmbito e à ornamentação da exina, sendo portanto, circular, de superfície finamente reticulada em D. discolor (Benth.) Amsh., triangular, de superfície reticulada em D. tessmannii Harms. Os do gênero Chaetocalyx apresentam-se também sem diferenças muito distintas, possuem o âmbito triangular, são prolatos e 3-colporados, sendo pequenos de superfície reticulada em C. scandens varo pubescens (DC.) Rudd. e médios, de superfície finamente reticulada em C. brasiliensis (Vog.) Benth. Os do gênero Vataireopsis são pequenos, prolatos e 3-colporados, distinguindo-se quanto à endoabertura e à estratificação da exina; alongada, de superfície finamente reticulada com teto liso em V. iglesiasii Ducke e circular, de superfície reticulada com teto ondulado em V. speciosa Ducke.
Resumo
The pollen grains were analyzed for size, number of openings, shape and stratification of the exine. Those of the genus Dussia are small, sub-prolate and 3-colporate, differing only in the scope and ornamentation of the exine, being circular with a finely reticulate surface in D. discolor (Benth.) Amsh. and triangular with a reticulate surface in D. tessmannii Harms. Those of the genus Chaetocalyx are also without very distinct differences, triangular in scope, prolate and 3-colporate, small with a reticulate surface in C. scandens varo pubescens (DC.) Rudd. and medium, with a finely reticulate surface in C. brasiliensis (Vog.) Benth. Those of the genus Vataireopsis are small, prolate and 3-colporate, distinguished by the endopening and the stratification of the exine: elongate, with a finely reticulate surface and a smooth roof in V. iglesiasii Ducke and circular, with a reticulate surface and a wavy roof in V. speciosa Ducke.
