Criança na pesca: brincadeira ou trabalho?

Abstract

The work to be carried out on the island of Algodoal/Maiandeua will focus on the situation of children in a fishing community in northeastern Pará, and is part of the RENAS project "Natural Resources and Anthropology of Maritime, River and Lake Populations in the Amazon: Study of the Relationship between Man and his Environment". This work will seek to understand the daily activities of children in a fishing community and will evaluate their importance both in the productive structure of the family and in the practice of fishing activities, that is, within the domestic group. The importance of this work lies in the understanding of the situation of the Amazonian child. In order to reach these objectives, a bibliographic survey will be carried out to give more consistency to the theoretical universe of the research. The field research will be done through direct observation of the children in the community of Algodoal as a way to inventory their performance spaces. Trying to understand the transformations that have occurred with the situation of the children throughout the years, we will use as a research technique the life history of the fishermen of this community, trying to find in them the rescue of their life as a child to make a comparison with the problem of the child nowadays and thus understand the changes occurred in their world.
