CURRÍCULOS ESCOLARES E DIVERSIDADE ÉTNICO-CULTURAL: UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE O EMPREGO DA LEI Nº 11.645/08 NOS COLÉGIOS DE BELÉM/PA

Abstract

The aim of this article is to examine the school curriculum and educational material from public and private schools in Belém and from this analysis, reflect on the inclusion of themes related to the history and indigenous culture in the curriculum in accordance with the requirements of Law n. 11.645/2008. The analysis was conducted through literature and documents, unstructured interviews with administrators and teachers from two schools in the basic education of Belém, and analysis of teaching materials and syllabus of two other schools. The importance of this work lies in the possibility of providing a general look at the schools of Belém and how they deal with this law, which allows us to analyze the possible advances and difficulties of implementing education in a multiethnic school. It was found that indigenous issues is still not present fully in the daily school in Belém, and that there is still long way to go in ensuring the effective implementation of the Law n. 11.645/2008.
