Abstract: The Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi has its origins in the Associação Filomática (Friends of Science), created by Domingos Soares Ferreira Penna, on October 6, 1866. It is the first and most important center for scientific studies of the natural and sociocultural systems of the Amazon. Throughout its history, it has cataloged more than 4.5 million items, from the most different organisms, in different parts of the vast Amazon region.
This extraordinary collection is a global reference on the Amazon biome, formed by 19 collections, subdivided in 40 subcollections, on topics related to human, biological, social and earth sciences. Abstract: For 156 years, the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi has been carrying out research in the Amazon. Aiming
disseminate this research to society in general, using a more popular and simple language.

Based on that project, this book documents a botanical exhibition full of discoveries
and knowledge. Composed of fifteen carefully crafted chapters, “Exhibitions in
Botany: the secrets of plants”, captures the essence of a botanical exhibition where the reader
you will embark on a journey of knowledge about vegetables.
As you read, you will be immersed in a journey of discovery about the diversity in
botany, from anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and interactions of plants with bacteria, fungi
and the environment, in addition to its importance in our society.

Abstract: The book "Miriti: the pearl of the lower Tocantins" addresses descriptions, accounts, and quotes from artisans, adorned with visual content that portrays very well the way of life, work, landscape, and the craftsmanship of the miriti palm, displayed along the banks of the rivers in the municipality of Abaetetuba, affectionately called "The Pearl of the Lower Tocantins." Revisiting one of the symbols of the municipality, the anthem composed by Máximo Ribera, which depicts the following passage: "Maratauíra, a great and beautiful river, a strong branch of the immense Tocantins, has on its bank a majestic place of work mixed with celebrations." Harmoniously, the book's proposal is sung in praise of the miriti work performed festively by artisans in Abaetetuba, who sculpt, paint, mold, weave, build, and cook their stories, their ancestry, and their love for their culture.
