Novas especies e subspecies de aves do Brasil Central

This article presents a description of a new subspecies of bird from Central Brazil, named *Knipolegus aterrimus franciscanus*, made by E. Snethlage in 1928. The morphological characteristics of the male and female are described in detail, highlighting differences in plumage coloration, markings on the wings, tail, and regions of the chest and abdomen. The male is characterized by uniform black plumage with a white band on the wings, while the female has brown and olive tones, with varied spots and streaks. The study contributes to the taxonomic identification and expansion of knowledge about Brazilian avifauna, especially the species and subspecies present in Central Brazil.
Uma nova especie de Dendrocolaptideo do interior do Brasil

This work presents the description of a new species of bird from the Dendrocolaptidae family, named Xiphocolaptes franciscanus. The text emphasizes subtle differences in coloration and feather pattern, important elements for taxonomic identification and distinction of the new species from other similar birds in the interior of Brazil.
A New Hyphessobrycon (Characiformes: Characidae) from the Guiana Shield in Northern Brazil.

Uma nova espécie de Hyphessobrycon é descrita de um tributário do rio Paru do Oeste (bacia do rio Trombetas), na região do baixo rio Amazonas que drena o Escudo das Guianas no estado do Pará, Brasil. A nova espécie apresenta uma combinação única de uma mancha umeral de forma irregular, uma faixa longitudinal larga e difusa, e uma mancha aproximadamente triangular no pedúnculo caudal. A nova espécie é incluída no grupo Hyphessobrycon agulha, e comparações com as espécies pertencentes a este grupo e a um não congênere semelhante, Hemigrammus bellottii, são apresentadas.

I present this fourth book containing the results of research conducted in the Caxiuanã National Forest, taking another step in disseminating scientific knowledge about the Amazon rainforest. Nearly 150 researchers are engaged in the most diverse areas of research, linked to the mission of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, which, in short, is to produce and communicate science.
