Testemunhos de Eduardo Galvão sobre o sistema de aviamento no rio Negro: excertos de documentos do arquivo do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi

Abstract

This memorial aims to publicize a selection of documents from the Eduardo Galvão Fund, deposited in the Guilherme de La Penha Archive of the Goeldi Museum. These are fragments from a much larger collection on the Rio Negro, produced by the anthropologist during his two ethnographic expeditions to the region in 1951 and 1954. Following a brief contextualization of the anthropologist and his work related to the Rio Negro region, a selection of photographs and excerpts extracted from field diaries are presented. They portray characters and their relationships in the context of the aviamento system, mainly related to rubber exploitation.
