O objetivo deste projeto foi o de reconectar as peças aos contextos em que foram originalmente encontradas, levando em consideração as características físicas dos materiais e a documentação existente acerca dos sítios representantes dessa cultura. Essa recontextualização das peças Maracá está em consonância com as novas diretrizes curatoriais e museológicas da RTMFS/MPEG, e a pesquisa se dá na interface dos campos da arqueologia e da museologia. |
| Abstract: | The Maracá culture has left several marks on history, one of the most important being the anthropomorphic funerary urns, most of which are located in considerable collections in the Mario Ferreira Simões Technical Reserve of the Emilio Goeldi Museum (RTMFS/MPEG). The objective of this project was to reconnect the pieces to the contexts in which they were originally found, taking into account the physical characteristics of the materials and the existing documentation about the sites representing this culture. This recontextualization of the Maracá pieces is in line with the new curatorial and museological guidelines of the RTMFS/MPEG, and the research takes place at the interface of the fields of archaeology and museology. |
